A 15-year-old IX student was found dead in a well on the premises of Don Bosco School near Babalad village on the outskirts of Kalaburagi town on Tuesday. classes.
The deceased was identified as Guru Nagappa, a resident of Sasargaon village in Chincholi taluk.
He was reported missing at school three days ago. But on Tuesday, he was found dead in a well on the school premises.
Reacting to the incident, Commissioner of Police SD Sharanappa said preliminary information indicated that two days ago, a student had taken a bicycle from the school and accidentally rammed it into a wall causing damage.
He was reportedly forced to bear the cost of the repair, which may have led him to take his own life.
The officer said a case has been registered. He added that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the cause of his death.
