Cases of the Special Court dealing with the Criminal Act under the Mine and Mineral Act (development and regulation) on Monday ordered the former IAS U. Sagayam officer to appear through a video conference from the Municipal Civil Court in Chennai to hear in granite fraud in the Madurai district.
Judge N. Logeswaren’s Special Court ordered the letter to be issued to the main district judge Chennai to agree, and issued a new summons to Mr. Sagayam. The court, who heard cases related to granite fraud, published a matter for June 6.
Previously, Mr. Sagayam wrote to a special prosecutor of a special court and expressed his inability to appear in court to offer evidence. Quoted the threat for his life.
Mr. Sagayam said that he was given protection – in accordance with the command of the High Court – to endanger his life after his appointment by a special official to explore the scam. However, protection was withdrawn by the state government. He said that the withdrawal of security was unfair. After a letter to Mr. Sagayam, the CEO of the police said that Mr. Sagayam would be given reasonable security to discover him in court.
