A senior citizen died in a traffic accident

A 79-year-old man who was seriously injured after being hit by a speeding lorry while crossing the road succumbed to his injuries on Friday, almost six days after the accident.

The incident took place on Ring Road near PES College within Banashankari traffic police station limits on July 12. The deceased was identified as Parashuram, a resident of Hosakerehalli.

According to the police, the accident took place on July 12 at around 2.30 pm when Parashuram was crossing the road. He was allegedly hit by a speeding truck and suffered multiple injuries. He was taken to hospital, where he underwent treatment, but succumbed to his injuries on Friday. The Banashankari traffic police registered a case and launched a search for the accused.
