“When I first came to Bengalur 11 years ago for a work project, things felt very affordable,” she wrote in the headline and remembered how he could rent an apartment 2bhk in the HSR layout £25 000 and a taxi ride to the airport only costs £700.
In her Yulia video she stated her current monthly expenses:
- Rent: £1,25,000
- Tuition: £30,000
- Food and household: £75,000
- House Help: £45,000
- Health and Fitness: £30,000
- Benzine: £5,000
Also noted that while her personal expenses can sometimes be maintained as low as £25 000–35 000 (priority of fitness, nutrition and mental health) are much higher. According to her, there is no bare minimum needed for the family of three to “live decent” in Bengaluru, nothing but £2.5 lakh per month.
Yulia added that living costs in cities such as Gurgaon and Mumbai are even higher.
Her contribution launched a wave of reactions online. The video has already exceeded three views of the Lakhy, with many users expressed in its expenditure habits. While some argued that her lifestyle was far from “average”, others said that its expenses emphasized how quickly the living costs of Indian meters increased.
“House Help 45000. In fact, you are overwhelming and this will be a problem for local residents,” the user wrote.
“It depends on the lifestyle. If the PM 2.5lakhs were a measure, then the Gross Plata would have to be 45lakhs PA, which is not yet a standard in Bengalur, and most MNCs do not pay at the VP level,” wrote another user on Instagram.
“Yes, this is true. The fact that it is a bigger situation, and that it is a larger road road, and it is in the infrastructure, and it is that it is bigger, and is that it is a larger road.
