Mini buses will apply to 67 new routes sanctioned in the Coimbatore district and 88 new routes in the Tiruppur district from 15 June, at a maximum distance of 25 km according to the newly issued government order.
The order extended the permissible distance for the operation of mini buses by five km from the existing 20 km. The maximum length of the route was set at 25 km, including 17 km in intolerant routes and eight in the routes.
According to the revised fare structure carried out for mini buses announced at the beginning of this year, according to the Law of the Ministry of Interior from 1988, £ 4 will be charged for the first four km, £ 5 to 6 km, 6 to 8 km, £ 7 for 20 km, £ 10 km.
For added five km, the fare structure ₹ 10 for 20 km to 22 km, £ 10 for 22 to 24 km and £ 11 to 26 km. The next kilometer is allowed if the adjacent space becomes a government hospital, a higher secondary school, a university, a railway station, etc.
Minibuses will be largely operated on new routes where unrealistic routes would not be less than 65 % of the total distance, the higher official of the transport department said.
Gandhipuram, KG Hospital Stop and Nava India stop the character among the starting points for mini buses in Coimbatore, the clerk said.
