The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) here on Sunday predicts heavy rains in isolated places in several districts for four days after Tuesday.
The reason is the influence of the cyclonic circulation of the upper air above the Bengali southeast bay between 3.1 km and 5.8 km above the mean sea level.
According to B. Amudhy, Head, (other authorized), RMC, cyclonic circulation over the Bengal southeast Bay of Bengal is likely to draw moisture and affects rainfall from Tuesday. “We follow the circulation and provide the necessary updates. Saturday’s riverbed from the southern interior of Karnataka to Mannar across Tamil Nadu, 0.9 km above the mean sea level, became less pronounced, and therefore we usually had dry weather until Sunday evening,” she said.
On Tuesday there will probably be heavy rain in isolated places above Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Tirupattur, Salem and Vellore. On Wednesday, heavy rains were predicted in Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Tirupatura, Vellore, Ranipet, Kancheepuram, Chengalpath, Kallakurichi, Villuppuram and Puduchherry.
