The police registered a charge against the prisoner after a video surfaced on social media in which he is seen making a video call to his wife from the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail.
The case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the jail’s Senior Superintendent Karna B. Kshatriya. The accused, identified as Akbar, has been booked under Section 323 (dishonest or fraudulent removal or concealment of property) of the IPC along with provisions of the Karnataka Prisons Act.
