A plot is being planned to kill me, my father: Tej Pratap

Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD) chief Tej Pratap Yadav has filed a police complaint against former aide Akash Yadav and his family members, accusing them of hatching a conspiracy to kill him and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad.

Mr Tej Pratap lodged a complaint at the Sachivalaya police station on Friday.

Speaking to reporters here, Mr. Tej Pratap said, “Based on my complaint, an FIR has been lodged against Akash Yadav, his sister Anushka Yadav and six others. They are trying to tarnish my image. My father Lalu Prasad ji is not well… They are hatching a conspiracy to kill me and my father.”

He asked Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to give him adequate protection.

In an alleged relationship

The persons named in the complaint include Anushka Yadav, with whom Tej Pratap claimed to be in a relationship despite being married to another woman.

The development prompted his father to expel him from the RJD, though the former state minister later retracted, claiming it was confusion arising from his “hacked” social media handle.

He further claimed that the alleged threat could be part of a wider political conspiracy. “It is possible that he (Akash Yadav) wants to have me killed in collusion with the opposition,” he claimed.

Before Mr. Tej Pratap filed a complaint against Akash Yadav, the latter filed a complaint against the JJD chief at Patliputra police station in the state capital.

Mr. Akash Yadav alleged that Mr. Tej Pratap and his aide tried to force their way into his house in an attempt to meet his family members. However, the JJD chief dismissed the allegations as “false and fabricated”.

Mr. Akash Yadav said that he received a call from a US number from a person who claimed to have connections with the jailed gangster.

Police said they are investigating the matter.

Mr Tej Pratap was expelled from the RJD by his father Lalu Prasad for six years on May 25 last year, a day after he allegedly confessed to being “in a relationship” with Ms Anushka.

However, he later deleted the social media post claiming that his page had been “hacked”. Lalu Prasad also disowned Teja Pratap due to his “irresponsible behaviour”.
