Police Gandhinagar, in Kottayam, arrested a man on Saturday, showing his death to escape the arrest after cheating £ 4.5 Lakh by committing himself with false gold.
The defendant, identified as Sajeev Mr. Kumaranalloor, hid last year after allegedly committed counterfeit gold ornaments in the gold loan in Kumaranalloor. In an effort to introduce investigators, a person even published an obituarologist in the newspaper and claimed that he had died and was cremated in Adyar, Chennai.
Police Gandhinagar, who worked on Tip-off, watched him on a hiding near Kodaikanal and arrested him.
The police launched a detailed investigation to determine whether it was associated with similar cases of fraud elsewhere. The accused was made in front of the judge.
