Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan.

Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan welcomed the Union Budget 2026-27, saying it reflected years of decisive governance focused on reforms, resilience and people-centred growth.

In a post on social media, he said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman deserved credit for presenting a reform-based forward-looking budget that strengthens India’s economic fundamentals.

He said the budget was a strong boost for manufacturing, small and medium enterprises, infrastructure, green energy, education, skills and ease of doing business and accelerates India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat.

Mr. Kalyan noted that the emphasis on job creation, innovation, urban economic regions and high-speed rail corridors would reshape growth across regions and sectors. A focus on infrastructure would increase mobility, reduce logistics costs, promote sustainable transport and accelerate economic activity.

As far as Andhra Pradesh is concerned, initiatives like rare earth corridors, East Coast Industrial Corridor, increased public capital expenditure, fisheries development, coastal logistics, SME support and agricultural value chain reforms augur well for development. “This budget is rooted in Sankalp led by Kartavya and driven by Yuva Shakti, empowering states, empowering the poor and middle class and building a confident and self-reliant India,” added Mr. Kalyan.
