During the Sindoor operation, the Indian army moved with the “rhythmic accuracy” that showed synergy from the soldier to the commander and joined the civil and state administration, said the chief of the Army chiefs, General Ubendra Dwivedi on Friday (September 5, 2025).
He spoke when he started the book called Sindoor Operations: The Dispent Stories of the Deep Strings of India inside Pakistan, written by Lieutenant KJS Dhillon (Retd), in the Manekshaw Center in Nový Delhi.

“The book is a tribute to the courage and professionalism of the army, especially along the control line. It brings aspects usually unspeakable due to uniform limits and offers insight into challenges, emotions, losses and profits of such operations,” General Dwivedi said.
“Strategic clarity”
He noted that every action-and even deliberate inactivity-running Sindoor has long-term consequences and demanded careful consideration of time, space, resources and goals. “This operation reflects the determination of India, led by strategic clarity and the approach of the whole nation,” he added.
Gene. Dwivedi said there were no precedents for such an operation. “I talked to many veterans 22 and 23, including those who served in these areas to explore the available options. There were several brilliant designs and integrated as required,” he recalled.
The head of the army described this book as “basic” and set a scale for future operations and served as a legacy for research scientists and military strategists. He said that he also offers lessons in the field of narrative management, media involvement and international relations during the testing period.
