Telangana High Court Justice P. Sam Koshy, executive chairman of the Telangana State Legal Services Authority, observed that disposal of a large number of cases would reduce the workload of the courts, on Saturday directed the Excise Commissioner to determine on December 21 the number of cases that can be disposed of in the interim National Lok Adalat.
In an interactive meeting with the Director General of Police, Commissioner of Excise, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad and other top officials, the judge sought their cooperation and support in arranging for more cases to be dealt with during the National Lok Adalat convened by the National Legal Services Authority.
Compounded cases related to criminal matters, excise cases, RTC cases and check bounce cases pending in various courts of the state can be settled in Lok Adalat, according to a press release.
