
THINK Gas, one of India’s leading city gas distribution (CGD) players, which is implementing a city gas project in Thiruvananthapuram, has launched the ‘Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) National Drive 2.0’ in Kerala, reaffirming its commitment to accelerate the adoption of alternative natural gas as a cleaner and safer option. As part of this initiative, the agency announced a CNG awareness auto rally involving more than 50 autorickshaws to create awareness about the benefits of using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The rally started from THINK petrol station in Chackai and engaged commuters and citizens along the route.
The event also marked the inauguration of the area’s first high-rise Domestic Natural Gas Pipeline (DPNG), highlighting the readiness of the infrastructure for the smart fuel option in urban homes. As part of the PNGRB National Drive 2.0, THINK Gas has committed to connecting 7,500 PNG customers within the Geographical Area (GA) and has already built a gas distribution ecosystem with 55,444 connected households, 47 functional CNG stations and an extensive pipeline network of 1,507 km of steel and 90 km of steel (MDPE) and polyethylene (MDPE) pipes. uninterrupted access to natural gas across the housing and mobility segments.
The agency also inaugurated its first domestic connection (Piped Natural Gas) at Mararikulam in Alappuzha, where the agency also committed to connect 7,500 PNG customers between January 1 and March 31 as part of the PNGRB National Drive 2.0. The agency has already established a gas distribution ecosystem with 55,444 connected households, 47 CNG service stations and an extensive pipeline network comprising 1,507 km of MDPE pipelines and 90 km of steel pipelines, ensuring safe, reliable and uninterrupted access to natural gas across the residential and mobility segments of Alappuzha, a statement said on Saturday.
