On Saturday, hundreds of people closer to Thrissur City on a protest march against the WAQF law (amendment). The march, which was eliminated by the Muslim Jamat Keral, called for an immediate abolition of the controversial law.
The march, which was held without disturbing traffic, began at 4 pm from Hittiyangadi Sunni Masjid. Demonstrators expressed their concerns about the threat of the law on the rights, culture and good living conditions of the Muslim minority community in the country.
The march participated in the leaders of various organizations, including a member of Samast Central Mushawara IMK Faizi, Kerala Muslim Jamaat District President Syed Fazal Thang, Secretary General Pu Ali and prominent personalities from various Muslim organizations such as Sunni Yuvajana Samgam (SYS), SYS ‘Students’ Sunni-iyathul-iyathul Mullalim), and Sunni-iyathul. (SJM). The protest march reached the Swwaii round.
This was followed by a public meeting where P. Balachandran, Mla; Member of the District Secretariat CPI (m) PK Shajan; State Vice President of the Congress for Youth Ob Janesh; And religious scholars from different vortices dealt with the Assembly.
During the meeting, the speakers emphasized the direct threat that the WAQF law (amendment) represents not only for the Muslim community, but also for Indian values of secularism, democracy and religious freedom. MLA P. Balachandran called the government of BJP part of the hidden agenda of the hidden agenda and said it would only create a division and fear.
“The WAQF law has been rightly awarded to Muslims that allowed them to contribute to the well-being of their community of progress in the country. The BJP government, powered by an anti-Muslim approach, is trying to eliminate these rights,” Balachandran said.
The speakers stressed that the fight would continue peacefully until the account is canceled. “It is a struggle to protect the democratic and secular structure of our society, which must be the responsibility of every citizen who believes in equality and justice,” they said.
