On Friday, a man was killed in a traffic accident as he tried to cross the National Highway Tiruchi-Thanjavur.
R. Robert, 70, left his house to buy dinner and try to cross the highway when S. Anand, a motorist. Robert was immediately rushed to a private hospital nearby, where he was declared dead on arrival, the police said. The accused was transported to the same hospital for treatment due to the suffering of injuries on his face and arms.
Police Thirurumbur registered the case.
