
Bengaluru: The man allegedly responsible for launching the Instagram account, which published the secret photographs and videos of women commuting on the Bengalur subway, was arrested.
Firms were filed on Wednesday and the sources confirmed that the person was detained on Friday after the Bangalore Metro Clicks account (@Metro_chicks), NDTV reported.
The authorities currently question the person as part of the ongoing investigation.
What is the Bangalore Metro click on the Instagram account?
The Instagram account – Bangalore Metro Clicks – represented several photos and videos of women commuting to the Bengalur Metro, captured both inside the trains and on the platforms.
According to the PTI report, the Instagram’s controversial account had 6,000 followers and represented 14 unsolicited videos and photos, all captured without knowing the shooting of women. All posts and videos on your account have now been removed.
How did the incident appear?
The canceling incident came to light on May 20 during the routine scanning of social media by a police officer who encountered the Bangalore Metro Clicks account, Instagram, PTI said.
According to the police, none of the women listed in the content appeared that it was recorded.
“In connection with the Instagram website, which published videos and photos of commuting women, without their knowledge or consent, the case was registered on the basis of accusations of voyeurism and the relevant parts of the Information Technology Act,” said the police commissioner (South), LOKESH B. Jagalasar. The case is investigated by the Banashankari Police.
“We are determined to ensure the security and dignity of women in public spaces,” said the police deputy commissioner, adding that he was watching the person responsible for capturing the shots.
