On Thursday (July 17, 2025) there was a disturbing incident around 22:00, when Mohammad Sahail Khan intentionally released his home dog on a smaller boy who played in a parked Auto-Rike, according to the police in Mumbai.
The dog attacked the boy, bit his chin and hands, and caused serious injuries. A video about the incident became viral on social media and caused extensive outrage and conviction.

Khan reportedly released his home dog on a smaller boy without any provocation and the dog repeatedly bit the child. Instead of intervening, Khan was seen laughter and enjoyed the incident. The boy suffered a brady and hands injury and was left mentally traumatized by suffering.
“17th July around 22:00 around 22:00 played the next son of the complainant in a parked rickshaw in a residential area when the accused, Mohammad Sohail Khan-known from the same locality-thoughtfully released his brown colored pet.
On the basis of a detailed statement of the complainant, a crime was registered against Khan according to sections 291, 125, 125 (a). A) BNS at the police station Mankhurd. The defendants pursuant to Section 35 (3) of the BNS were delivered a notice.
3.17 Lakh people were looking for treatment of cases of dog bite in the state in 2024
According to a study conducted by the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR)-the national institute of epidemiology (NIE), estimates of death and animal bites in India, 2022-2023, more than 5,000 people died every year for dog bite.
The Ministry of Fishing, Breeding of Animals and Dairy products based on the issue issued by the Ministry, stated that states/UTS reported according to the data in the integrated program of the Integrated Health Information Platform on the Portal of the Ministry of Health and Family Care that 21,95,122 cases of dog bite in India 2024.
