A man has been charged with attempted murder after he deliberately rammed his car into vehicles in Keralam

The Mundakkayam police on Monday charged a 27-year-old man with attempted murder after preliminary investigations revealed that he had deliberately rammed his car into several vehicles at Chotti near Mundakkayam on Sunday.

The accused, Sharon Philp, 27, of Thenpuzha, was booked after preliminary investigations showed that he deliberately drove his car at high speed and rammed it into other vehicles in an apparent suicide attempt.

The accident took place around 8 am on Sunday when the car driven by Sharon rammed into an oncoming car, knocking down three other cars, a motorcycle and an autorickshaw. Nine people, including a pedestrian, were injured. The injured have been admitted to hospitals while Sharon, who was also injured, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kanjirapally.

The incident was initially treated as a normal traffic accident. However, CCTV footage from the crash site and nearby areas led investigators to conclude that the collisions were deliberate. The case was registered based on the complaints of the victims of the accident.
