A KSRTC bus hit a concrete wall in Kannur

Around 12 passengers, including students, were injured after a KSRTC bus lost control and rammed into a concrete retaining wall near an underpass on the Chala bypass on Friday morning. The bus, which was traveling from Kozhikode to Kannur, met with an accident around 9.30 am. Preliminary information indicates that the driver lost control of the vehicle on the rain-soaked road, causing it to swerve and crash into a concrete wall at the side of the road.

The injured were taken to a private hospital in Chala for treatment. The bus was carrying a large number of passengers, including women and children traveling to the Parassinikadavu temple, as the nationwide free travel scheme for women in KSRTC buses was in force due to the holiday. The police started investigating the accident. Initial findings indicate that wet road conditions may have contributed to the accident.
