A 22-year-old Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) employee succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday after he was run over by a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus in a road accident last month.
The police identified the deceased as Nikhil of Kunnumpuram. The accident took place at Edalavattom near Nedumangad around 7.30 pm on January 29.
The accident reportedly took place after a police jeep traveling from Palode to Nedumangad braked sharply and Nikhil, who was riding a motorcycle behind the jeep, lost control after his bike handle hit the back of the jeep. Nikhil was thrown on the road after the impact and was run over by a KSRTC bus heading from Nedumangad to Kulathupuzha. He suffered serious injuries in the accident.
He has since been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
