A fire broke out in Surf City, North Carolina on Saturday, affecting several buildings. Flames were seen near the Trailer Bar at 1701 N. New River Drive. At least one home was destroyed and two others were damaged in the fire, according to city police Chief Phillip Voorhees, who confirmed this to local media.
He said no injuries were reported, WECT reported. Authorities added that they reached the spot at 5:40 p.m. and the fire was extinguished by 6:30 p.m. Emergency responders at the scene urged the public to stay away from the area for now, according to local media, which added that the 1700 block of North Shore Drive and North New River Drive remain closed due to the fire.
