A historian detained under the Goonda Act sent Ballari to jail
The notorious recorder of history based in Station Bazaar police station limits was detained under the Goonda Act and lodged in Ballari Central Jail on orders issued by the Commissioner of Police SD Sharanappa, who is also the Additional District Magistrate.
The 37-year-old accused, identified as Ravikumar Tukaram, a resident of Hanuman Nagar in CJ Colony in the city, has been classified as a Category A miscreant by the police.
According to police records, Ravikumar is a habitual offender with a criminal record from 2008 to 2026.
A total of 24 cases, 18 criminal cases, two cases under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, two cases under Penal Code (Cr.PC) and two cases under Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) were registered against him.
Police said he was involved in several serious crimes registered at various police stations, including murder, attempted murder, robbery, extortion, theft, assaulting women and intimidation.
