
A 42-year-old head constable was killed in a road accident at Sathamangalam under Orathur police station jurisdiction on Friday (April 4, 2026) night.
Police said Prabhu, attached to the Chidambaram Taluk police station, was deployed with the election air squad in Kattumannarkoil. He was returning home from polling duty on a motorbike on Friday (April 3) night when a minivan rammed into his vehicle near Sathamangalam. The accident happened around ten o’clock in the evening
Suffering grievous injuries, Prabhu was rushed to the Government Cuddalore Medical College and Hospital at Annamalai Nagar in Chidambaram, where he succumbed. The Orathura police registered the case and are investigating.
