Caracal, a hand weapon manufacturer based in the United Arab Emirates, has launched production facilities in cooperation with the Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Group (Meil) in Hyderabad on Monday.
Development comes shortly after visiting the price of the Crown price of the UAE and the Minister of Defense of the country to India at the beginning of this month. Caracal competed in a tender selection in the past to add his rifles Car-816 to the Indian Army, but eventually lost Sig Sauer from the US
It is located in the ICOMM integrated engineering facility and will serve as a local production center for a comprehensive portfolio of advanced weapons based on an agreement on the transfer of technology with Caracal, which is the entity of the EDGE technology and defense groups.
This agreement is a milestone in cooperation with the defensive United Arab Emirates – India and support Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, Meil said. Weapons to Be ManuFactured at the Facility Include Car 816 Close-Quarters Battle Rifles, Car 817 Assault Rifles, Lightweight CSR 338 Bolt-Action Sniper Rifles, Lightweight CSR 308 Bolt-Action Sniper Rifles Rifles, Modern CMP9 Submachine Guns and Caracal Ef and Caracal F Gen II Combat Pistol.
These new generation weapons will serve the critical needs of the Indian armed forces, central armed police forces (CAPF), special forces, state police forces and special protective groups (SPG). It will also satisfy the global requirements for the export of Caracal. It will also support Caracal’s international programs and strengthens the role of India as a trustworthy global champion for defense production, Meil said.
“Caracal with our side as a trustworthy and visionary partner we build more than first -class weapons. We build a bold, self -sufficient India. This is our greeting for every soldier and promises the quality that protects, seizes and inspires,” said ICOMM Tele Patur.
The start of the ICOMM Caracal Complex Small Weapons is “Milestone in our efforts to support the Indian market and defense industry. The first transmission of hand weapons technologies from SAE to India also emphasizes our commitment to the premiere of Narendra Modi in India, India,” Caracal Hamad CEO.
“With a successful technical qualification with two units of special forces and strong progress in military attempts, we are proud to deepen our role in the Indian defensive ecosystem. ICOMM has proved to be a highly capable and reliable partner,” he said.
After the Council for the Acquisitions of the Defense (DAC) approved contracts 72,400 assault rifles and 93,895 carabiners via the Fast Track Procurement (FTP) route (FTP) in January 2018, the Sig Sauer SIG-716 was evaluated and the lowest offer was later announced. However, the offer was eventually canceled and the army bought and caused 72,400 SIG-716 rifles from Sig Sauer on the basis of a contract for 700 GBP signed in February 2019.
Imports were to arrange a gap stop until a greater requirement was met by a mass license to produce Russian assault rifles AK-203. With this delay, however, the Ministry of Defense in June 2024 signed a repeated order for rifles 73,000 SIG716 and is expected that deliveries will be delivered by the end of 2025.
As Hindu had already stated, Caracal said in his statement that despite the uncertainty of the agreement, he would continue to invest in India and fully produce carabiners in the country. “Caracal has already identified the required land, equipment and local partners to start production immediately. More than 20% of components mounted on the 816 vehicle are already produced in India,” the company said in a statement.
