Days after Russian wife Nina Kutina was taken into custody for living deep inside the forest in Karnataka’s Gokarna with her two daughters, her former husband, an Israeli citizen, demands shared care for her daughters and says she wants to be a father.
“I just want to see my daughters several times a week and take care of them as well. I am afraid that if they go to Russia now, it will be harder to stay with them. So I wish they could stay in India,” Mr. Goldstein said on Wednesday’s videos (July 16, 2025).
Dor Goldstein (38), who said he had lived almost six months a year in Goa, said he lives separately from Kutina (40) in the last few years and “lost” with them when she took daughters and left Goa a few months ago.
“I managed to find them on the beach in Gokarna, but Kutina refused to leave me with her children because I no longer live with them,” added Mr. Goldstein.
He said he met Kutina in Goa around 2017 and were together, traveled between India and Ukraine until they divided.
He said he left India this time in March, and could not come before that.
“When I heard the news, I immediately booked the flight to Bengalur to try to meet them,” Goldstein said.
He said Kutina wants to raise children themselves.
“At the beginning, she told me that if I didn’t live in the same house, I shouldn’t be in touch with them at all,” said Goldstein.
When they left Goa a few months ago, Mr. Goldstein said he had reported a missing message with the police.
“But now I want to strive for a shared link,” he added.
Mr. Goldstein said that she has been supporting Kutina since she gave birth to her first daughter.
“I give her money every month and then come here to India to spend six months with them because I have more obligations for the next six months. The visa is also only for six months,” he added.
Mr. Goldstein said his younger daughter was born in India and that Kutina has lived here (in India) for almost five years.
“As I understand, she (AMA) is a citizen of India and should not be deported,” he said.
Girls, Prema (6) and AMA (4), were found with a cutina in a remote cave in Ratirtha Hills of Kumta Taluk 11 July.
They were found to live inside the Gocarna cave during the routine inspection by the police after the landslide in this area.
The police said all three of them lived isolated almost three weeks before they were found.
In an earlier interview with PTI Kutina, her life in the cave was not as shown in the media.
She also complained about the place where she and her daughters were taken from the cave.
“We are now held in an unpleasant place. It’s dirty, there’s no privacy, and we’ll only get ordinary rice to eat. Many of our things have been taken, including the ashes of my son who died nine months ago,” PTI said.
