A female body was found in the VTPS cooling channel

The Ibrahimpatnam police, who recovered the body parts of the woman a few days ago, identified the victim as Kalyani, a native of Mangalagiri in Guntur district.

Kalyani, an orphan, was married but separated from her husband after family disputes. Her brother lived in Vijayawada.

Her body was found dismembered in the VTPS cooling channel on September 18. Police noticed a tattoo on her arm and uploaded photos of the woman and the tattoo to social media groups in an attempt to establish her identity.

“We have identified the deceased as Kalyani. Police are trying to trace the accused who murdered the woman,” NSVK West Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (AKP) Durga Rao said.

Police reportedly took several suspects into custody for questioning.
