Hydeabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) launches a feasibility study for the proposed “overhead cable car” between the tombs of Qutb Shahi and Golcond.
The City Development Authority announced the “request for proposals” (RFP) for the study and called on the offers of consultants for that.
The proposal for a cable car, which aims to promote tourism in the inheritance, was long waiting, and the Ministry of Tourism approved it in 2021.
In the RFP document, Hmda said that the tombs of Qutub Shahi and the Golconda Fortress, located in the district of the city heritage, draw significant domestic and international tourist steps.
Despite their spatial proximity, the connectivity remains to the last mile between these pages insufficiently developed, which limits the integrated hiking of inheritance and accessibility for pedestrians, she said. Accessible roads are often overloaded and terrain limitation is challenges for conventional transport solutions, noted a document that explains the destination of the cable path.
The upper cable car system is considered to be a potential mode of transport and offers an environmentally friendly solution that minimizes the country’s disruption, shortens the travel time and increases the potential of tourism.
A feasibility study is initiated for evaluation of technical, environmental, financial and operational aspects of the implementation of the cable car system between the two nodes of the inheritance. This study will lead further decision -making and detailed development of the project if it is found viable.
