A family of five – two adults and three children – had a narrow escape after the car they were traveling in caught fire near here on Friday, officials said. The incident took place in the morning when the family was traveling from Chittar to Konni.
According to Fire and Rescue Service officials, the fire broke out in Payyanamon near Konni after passengers noticed smoke and flames coming from the hood of a vehicle. They immediately stopped on the shoulder and got out of the car.
