Deputy Transport Commissioner Meera Prasad inaugurated a new driver sensitivity testing laboratory set up by Diageo India (United Spirits Limited) in collaboration with BharatCares and Andhra Pradesh Transport Department at the RTO office here on Monday.
New drivers will be taught road safety behaviors in the lab through a mandatory 45-minute module containing interactive video content and a behavioral assessment designed to promote safe driving habits. By simulating real scenarios, the program emphasizes the importance of safety, which has a tangible impact on driver behavior and road safety.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Meera Prasad said that road safety was a key priority for the state government and that it was committed to reducing accidents through sustained awareness and behavior change initiatives.
The Driver Sensitization Lab will boost the government’s efforts by equipping new drivers with hands-on, simulation-based learning, he said, crediting Diageo India and BharatCares for advancing responsible driving and helping build safer roads for all.
Diageo India Head of Corporate Relations Devashish Dasgupta and Mayank Pathak of BharatCares were among those present.
