Chamala Congress MP Kiran Kumar Reddy admitted that the Congress suffered defeats in two municipalities under his parliamentary constituency – Cheriyal and Tirumalagiri municipalities due to hidden elements within the party.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, he said the defeat showed a clear divide between local leaders and party cadres. There will be a detailed post-mortem of the defeats along with TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Gouda and AICC chief Meenakshi Natarajan.
Referring specifically to the Tirumalagiri loss, the MP said anyone found responsible for damaging the party’s prospects must face prosecution. “Only when corrective measures are taken will the party improve and move forward,” he asserted.
Criticizing BRS working president KT Rama Rao, MP said his appeals are limited to social media platforms like Twitter and have no impact on the country. “Despite aggressive social media campaigns, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi has failed to convince people,” he said, adding that the party had lost ground in the corporate elections.
