The Mandy District Administration performed an operation of Abhyas, the exercise of civil defense, in Krishnaraja Sagar, on Sunday simulated three emergency situations resulting from a ship’s accident, fire and explosion.
It was part of nationwide exercises ordered by the government due to tensions on the Indian and Pakistani border after a deadly terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. The authorities stated that the aim of the exercise was to present coordinated efforts of the district administration, police, fire brigade, health department and other agencies, as well as to emphasize measures that the public must take.
The simulated scene included a boat overturning at the Brindavan Gardens cruise point, after which the control room was immediately alerted.
This resulted in a sequence of events of the offices, which led to contact with the fire brigade, which plunged into a place with rescue equipment to save the passengers of the degraded ship. Given that accidents tend to lead to the convergence of a large crowd, making it difficult to move freely, the police entered, controlled the crowd and ensured the smooth movement of vehicles for fire and ambulances.
Just as there were a firefighter and police staff at work, a medical and rescuer from the medical department were warned and achieved space, provided medical assistance by victims and hurried those who require further treatment of the closest hospitals.
The exercise was also simulated another scenario that included a fire accident in the police guesthouse. There was a siren to alert all of them, announced the inspection, and all departments were included in the standby mode to hurry to meet any emergency.
During the fire rescue drill, individuals were imprisoned on the first floor and were safely overthrown and provided medical attention.
The third drill included a bomb explosion and sounded the siren to alert the key players who saw the liquidation of the bomb, accompanied by a dog unit, explored the area, while medical teams provided first aid to the injured.
Deputy Commissioner Kumar, CEO of Mandy Zilla Panchayat Kr Nandini and superintendent of the police Mallikarjun Baladandi supervised the drill. Head officials from various departments were part of the exercise, except for SAC students and domestic guards staff.
