On Wednesday in all 14 districts, mocking drills of civil defense were led according to the Directive of the National Office for Disaster Management.
False drills were organized in the middle of the escalating tension between Indian and Pakistan after the terrorist attack of Pahalgam began at 4 pm and ended within half an hour. Falech drill also tested emergency readiness and reaction of various agencies involved in exercises.
According to the Office for the Catastrophe Adaster in Keral (KSDMA), as part of a simulated drill, warning sirens installed in institutions such as schools, government authorities and other buildings, three times for 30 seconds from 16:00 from 16:00
The exercise was also carried out between 16:02 and 16:29 in areas where the siren was not heard. According to the central directive, where there are no sirens, the announcement systems may be considered to be pointed out by the public.
The exercise was completed when the siren said that it was “safe” for 30 seconds from 16:28, the sirens were operated directly by the State Office for the Management of the Disaster. The Office also instructed that simulated exercises should be performed without any risk to people’s lives. The deployment of volunteers of civil defense and volunteers Aapda Mitra was also carried out after consultation with the fire brigade within the exercise.
As part of a simulated exercise, the agency pre -issued instructions for outages that advise people what to do and what to not do during a failure.
