Police infopark in Kochi on Monday registered a case against actor Unni Mukundan for alleged attacking his manager.
The petitioner was identified as VIPin Kumar. According to the first information report (companies) there was an alleged attack in the basement of the parking of the housing complex in Kakkanad, where the petitioner lived on Monday around 11:30.
The alleged attack was reportedly over the positive review of Mr. Kumar’s recent film Malayalam, in which Mr. Mukundan’s contemporary played the main character. Mr Mukundan convened Mr. Kumar for parking in the basement and attacked him and limited him when he tried to escape, except that he had issued a threat of death and verbally attacked, said the company.
The police registered this case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit Sections 115 (2) (voluntarily causing injury), 126 (2) (illegal restriction), 296 (a). (B) (utterance of obscene songs or words in public places), 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) and 324 (crime). The police are likely to convene Mr Mukundan for recording his statement.
Mr. Kumar asked the federation of film employees in Kerala (Fefka), while Mr Mukundan asked the Association of Malaysian Film Artists (AMMA).
“The work secretary was asked to hear both parties to gain clarity in the incident. Since Mr Mukundan is also involved in AMMY, we may have to engage in this organization. Our management committee will probably come up with the news in a few days,” B. Unnikrishnan, General Secretary of FEFKA.
Actor Baburaj, a member of the AMMA Ad-HoC committee, said the organization received a petition Mr. Mukundan, who raised serious professional accusations against Mr. Kumar. He wasn’t sure Mr. Kumar asked Ammu. Mr. Baburaj said they would listen to both sides.
