A 14-year-old boy drowned while swimming in a canal near Joldapka village in Bhalki taluk of Bidar district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Shoaib.
According to sources, Shoaib had gone for a swim with his friends in the Karanja canal near the village when he accidentally slipped, fell into the deep waters and died.
Dhannur police station officials who visited the spot conducted an inspection.
A case has been registered. An investigation is underway.
