The US representative Nancy Mace, a Republican firefighter from South Carolina, officially entered the Governor 2026 race and launched his campaign with a defiant message and video run from President Donald Trump.
Nancy Mace (47) is currently represented by the 1st Congress District of South Carolina and is an important personality in the national Republican policy. The Mace, which announced its candidacy on Monday, undertook to fight crime, against “gender ideology” and favored the interests of South Carolina.
“South Carolina doesn’t need another empty suit. She needs a warrior,” she said at her start of the campaign.
First record
Mace was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and the General of the US Army and Teachers, and taught history in 1999 as the first woman to graduate from the Cadet Corps on the Citadel, South Carolina Military College. She won Magna Cum Laude and later received a master’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Georgia.
Before joining the Congress, she worked in public relations and politics, including roles in the 2012 Ron Paul campaign and the presidential campaign Donald Trump 2016. In 2018 she was elected to the House of Representatives in South Carolina, seeking to reform prison and restrictions on coastal drilling.
Congress career
Mace overturned the first congress district in 2020 and became the first Republican woman from South Carolina elected to the American House of Representatives. Trump criticized Trump after an attack on January 6, but later he and his base Maga connected. Despite his rocky history, Trump approved her in the 2024 elections and appears in his video with the start of the campaign and called it a “fighter”.
In Washington, MACE focused on conservative fiscal policy, environmental protection against sea drilling and nuance on social issues – including rape support and exceptions in abortion laws, quoting her own experience as a surviving sexual attack.
GOP 2026 field
MACE enters the crowded Republican primary field and joined Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette, Rep. Ralph Norman, State Senator Josh Kimbrell and General Prosecutor Alan Wilson.
