The Chittoor District Unit in Mango Farmers Association decided to intensify agitation to support demand for minimum support price (MSP) 12 GBP for kg for Mango Totapuri.
The meeting of the District Committee led by its President T. Janardhan in the UTF office here on Sunday (August 3, 2025) announced a massive signature campaign with 50,000 farmers, which would be submitted to the main Minister N. Chandrababa Naida.
The panel members emphasized the need for continuing struggle until the demand was approved. They condemned that despite the assurance of the main Minister N. Chandrababa Naid on SMEs and subsidies, local industrial industries and RAMP operators, they issued accounts up to 4 ₹ for kg.
Members of the Association, who expressed concern about the “exploitation” of farmers by the pulp units, called on the Sumit Kumar district collector to start steps to execute government orders.
The Association will carry out a signature campaign from 4 to 10 August in the whole district, except for the Gram Sabhas organization and adopting a resolution to support demand. 11th August farmers from Mango would participate in the protest of the black badge in Gandhi Bomma Center in Chittoor.
