The statement of the HC Mahadevappa district for HC Mahadevappa, who said on Sunday that the Sultan’s tip laid the cornerstone for Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS), will lead the polarized atmosphere Kishnaraja Sagar (KRS).
Historian and expert on the Heritage of NS Rangaraju pointed out that what Dr. Mahadevappa, is documented and there is indeed the inscription that the tip of Sultan has tried to build a dam. “But to say he put the foundation stone for the present Krs, it is too attractive,” said prof. Rangaraju.
” The dam, as exists today, was conceptualized and built under the patronage of Nalwadi Kršnaraja Wadiyar at the beginning of the 20th century. While the tip may have had a vision for water work, the connection directly with KRS overlooks the documented engineering and administrative efforts of the royal family of Mysur, ”added Prof. Rangaraju.
He also warned against comparing historical characters at different times, and pointed out that the successor could have benefited from progress in science, technology and other developments that their predecessors unavailable.
The statement of Dr. Mahadevappa will cause fresh controversy, because historical characters and their inheritance have become more and more politicized in public discourse in recent weeks.
Recently, the MLC Yathindra Congress compared the contribution of his father, the main Minister Siddaramaiaha, with the legacy of Nalwadi, who invited both rebuilding and protests with those who honor the Wadiyar in Mysur.
