On Sunday, a vehicle carrying 15 pilgrims plunged into the channel in the Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh and killed at least 11, including seven children. The incident occurred when they were heading to the temple Prithvinath to pray.
CM Yogi Adityanath expressed sadness and ordered officials to ensure proper medical treatment for injured and increasing auxiliary work.
“Eleven people died after their vehicle fell into the canal below the ITIA Thok police station in Gonda. The vehicle had 15 passengers on board and went to the Prithvinath temple to pray,” the official said.
