When there was a landslide, there were approximately 300 workers at work, the district judge Sandeep Tiwari said. They ran after their lives when the rock began to decrease downhill. Eight of them suffered minor injuries, while four of them were seriously injured, Mr. Tiwari said.
All injuries workers were taken to the Vivekanand Hospital in Pipalkoti, he said.
One of them has a fracture. Another worker who needed scanning MRI spine to reveal the seriousness of his injury was taken in an ambulance to the hospital in Srinagar, Pauri, the district judge said.
The work has so far been suspended at the site of the project. “THDC was asked to continue working on the spot only after ensuring people’s security at work,” Tiwari said.
The staff from the strength of the reaction to the disaster, the police and the medical department threw themselves into the project.
THDC builds fire that regulates the water of the Alaknand of the river from Helang near Joshimath. Firing water will be transported to the pipolkoti by tunnel, where electricity will be produced using turbines.
In 2021 the place of fire was damaged due to the flood in the Alaknand River.
