The Eastern Fleet of the Indian Navy arrived in Manila with INS Delhi, Shakti and Kiltan and reaffirmed maritime ties with the Philippines and determination to Indo-Pacific.
The Indian Navy reported that as part of the ongoing Navy’s operating deployment to Southeast Asia, Indian naval ships of the Eastern Fleet, commanded by the rear Admiral Susheel Menon, an officer of the Eastern Fleet (FOCEF) flag, arrived in Manila. The ships were welcomed by the Philippine Navy staff. The visit is a testimony to the Indian Navy commitment to strengthen partnership in Indo-Pacific.
Upon arrival, Mr. Menon interact with local press workers and emphasized the shared commitment of both nations to maintain stability and maritime security. He emphasized the importance of such deployment in promoting understanding, trust and cooperation between friendly maritime forces, the Navy added.
Visits reaffirm the strategic importance of the event and involvement at a high level with the Philippine Navy, which represents an Indian maritime reach in the region.
The visit will also include bilateral maritime exercises between two sailors focusing on common maneuvers and communication protocols to improve readiness, build mutual trust and strengthen surgical synergy in the naval area.
The Philippine President Bongbong Marcos is ready to visit India from 4 to 8 August.
