The 45 -year -old charlatan was arrested on Friday after the farmer died of a dose of injection allegedly managed in Vandavasi here.
The arrested scarlet was identified as S. Magndran z Arani, holder of a diploma in a laboratory technician. For nearly two decades he had an illegal clinic on his farm in Thellur village.
The police said that the late farmer B. Ganesan, 57 from Villupuram, has heard of the Magndranian’s knee pain drug through his relatives and visited him with his wife and relative. Magndran reportedly gave him a dose of injection, immediately after which Ganesan felt uncomfortable and fell unconscious. He was hurried to the Taluk Government Hospital in Chetpet, where his doctors declared him dead.
On the basis of the complaint, the police in Chetpet registered a case against scarlet, which was later arrested from his hiding place in Arani. He was stored on a sub-yail in Tiruvannamei. The probe is running.
