Mohammed Shami and Vaibhav SuryavANSHI The Indian veteran sailor Mohammed Shami was chosen for the 15-member East Zone group for the upcoming Duleep 2025-26 trophy, while Ishan Kishan was appointed Captain and Abhimanyu Easwaran for Captain. The tournament, scheduled from August 28 to September 15, will mean the beginning of the Indian domestic cricket season.Shami, 34, was last seen in action during the Indian Premier League 2025, where he claimed six goals in nine games for Sunrisers Hyderabad. His latest first -class appearance was for Bengal in Ranja Trophy in November 2024.East Zone Squad contains important players, including Seamers Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar, along with the versatile Riyan Parag. Abhimanyu Easwarean, which is currently part of the Indian test team in England, will serve as a more captain of the team.The organizers of the tournament also appointed six emergency players, including Vaibhava SuryavANSHi, who recently made headlines scoring the fastest century in ODI youth during India under 19 years in England. Spinner Manishi, who took 22 goals in seven games, and is one of the best games of Jharkhand Virat Singh and Sharandeep Singh.The Duleep Trophy format has undergone changes in recent years. While the South Zone won the tournament in its latest edition of Zonal Format in 2023-24, in the previous year the competition was organized with four different Indian units – A, B, C and D – selected BCCi.

The complete East Zone group includes Ishan Kishan, Abhimanyu Easware, Sandeep Patnaik, Virath Singh, Denish Das, Sridam Paul, Sharandeep Singh, Kumar Kushagra, Riyan Parag, Utkaraan Parag, Utkaraan Sindu Jaiswal, Akash Shami. Mukhtar Hussein, Aasirwad Swain, Vaibhav SuryavANSHI, Swastik Samal, Sudip Kumar Gharages and Rahul Singh are in the stalls.
