The Amirthi Zoological Park, located on the edge of the Velore Corporation limits, will be reconstructed by other spacious closures, civic equipment for visitors, including food courts, water taps, seating and toilets.
Officials of the state forest department said that the zoo has been classified as a mini-zoo since its inception in 1967. “A detailed report of the project (DPR) is ready to provide other facilities for wild animals and visitors who are mostly school students, Hindu.
Currently, the zoo has waterfalls, birds, snakes, porcles, crocodiles, white peacocks, star turtles and about 150 spotted deer. Other attractions are spacious lawn, children’s park and interpretation center.
On average, the zoo registers 200-300 visitors every day. According to the plan of existing 22 closed shelves, which mostly have reptiles and peacocks, they double to provide more space for wild species. Other shelters with better trees will be built in the spacious spaces.
The entire existing water pipes will be re -laid to ensure continuous water supply for attachments and visitors. Water taps and sprinklers will be set up inside closed surfaces to beat heat in the summer. More species will be displayed for visitors with their details. A separate lawn with an adequate arrangement of sitting, food courts near large attachments and a playground will be set up for visitors.

Within the cost -effective measures, a separate land of feed, covering at least five hectares, develops inside the zoo to cultivate green, fruit trees and vegetables that are supplied to animals.
A female jackal will be brought from the big zoo, such as vandalur, to pair with an existing lonely male jackal in the zoo. Young male leopard also soon fascinates visitors in the zoo. The appropriate space was identified for the leopard in the zoo. According to standards, the leopard cover should consist of a cage that should be 200 m2, open surfaces and bumper zones to ensure the safety of visitors and animals. In other words, 1.5 acres are required for the Leopard cover.
Previously, the VOC Park in Coimbatore gave muggy crocodiles, star turtles, snakes rats to the Amirthi zoo after the closure of the Coimbatore zoo. Previously, the Zoo won the Sambar deer and several pelicans from the vandalur zoo.
