Saravanan and Krishhnované, both sub-inspectors attached to the armed police, were placed under their name under the murder of the planned caste youth in their son in the district of Tirunevel.
While their son Surjith, 23, was arrested for the murder of Kavin Selvaganesh, 27, an IT employee of Aurumugamangalam near Eral in the district of thoothuku, on Sunday investigators questioned Saravanan and his wife to find out their alleged involvement.
The Playamkottai police, who discussed the complaint of the victim of Tamil Selvi, the school teacher, registered the case of the murder against Surjith and his parents, and triggered various parts of the planned caste and scheduled tribes (penetrations) of the 2015 Act.
Attacked a machete
Kavin’s family claimed that caste hatred was for a scary murder. Surjith, who belongs to the most confident class, suspected that Kavin was in a relationship with his sister. After he attacked him several times, he reportedly abused his mother referring to her caste, police sources said.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the defendant has led many calls to murder over the last three days. The weapon used in the offense was confiscated. Both families were aware that Kavin, which belongs to the planned caste, and Surjith’s sister had been friends for a long time. What happened between the accused and Kavin in telephone calls and the reason for killing is examined, said sources.
CCTV shots seized
Police Commissioner of Tirunelvel Santosh Hadimani met with family members of Kavina on Tuesday and asked about the sequence of events leading to murder. Sources said that CCTV’s crime shots had confiscated crimes and added that whether Saravanan and his wife were part of the plot.
Meanwhile, Kavin’s family refused to accept his body after postmort. Required the arrest of a pair of sub-inspector. The family refused to obtain a government compensation. “We need justice for my son and not compensation,” said Kavin’s father Chandrasekar.
“Promise Unkept”
“When we refused to accept my son’s body, police and income officials promised to arrest within 24 hours. However, the promise must still be fulfilled, although their names were mentioned as accused in the first information report. So we require their arrest,” he said.
