Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao objected to Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan’s remarks on former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy during the Telangana Formation Day speech.
In a letter published on Thursday, Mr. Rao said that Mr. Pawan Kalyan seems to be making allegations against YSR without evidence.
YSR and YSR Congress Party should not be considered as one and the same, he said and accused Mr. Pawan Kalyan of making inaccurate claims.
Referring to the JSP chief’s claim that a senior police officer had informed him about an alleged conspiracy against him during YSR’s tenure, Mr. Rao said there was no evidence to that effect.
He said that in 2005-06, when YSR and Congress party enjoyed huge public support in united Andhra Pradesh, it was not necessary politically to target Mr. Pawan Kalyan, who was not actively involved in politics at that time. He said that Mr. Pawan Kalyan’s claim is unrealistic and not supported by facts.
