The defendant – Ganesh H., Muniraju, 38 and Shivakumar, 32 years, from Kola – allegedly claimed that they had transferred explosives to Kalasipalya to be transported to a private bus for work related to turning and digging the borehole.
But when they went to use the toilet, they saw officials and security guards of the department. When they feared they were caught, they threw a bag containing gelatin gels and 12 electric detonators in the toilet and fled from the place.
Based on the CCTV shots, the police identified the defendant and traced them to their birthplace and arrested them, said police commissioner Bengalur Setant Kumar Singh.
