
On Monday, the Maharashtra has released a new set of instructions for its employees for the use of social media platforms and warned that employees violate these standards.
The new policy prohibits employees of the state government in criticism of existing or previous government policies in the state and other dispensing on the social media platform.
The instructions also warned that employees violate new standards by facing measures according to the Maharashta State Service rules of 1979.
“Employees will have to maintain separate accounts for personal and official use. They should not use applications that are banned by the state government or the center,” said the government resolution (GR).
What does a government resolution say (GR)?
– State government employees are to use social media very responsibly.
– Sate government employees should not download undesirable, discriminatory, slander content or contributions that cause hatred.
– A personal account should have nothing but a photo of an employee.
– No confidential documentation, official documents can be partially or fully recorded, handed over or shared without prior permits or permission, PTI said.
– Before retiring or transfer, employees are to hand over the official social media account to their successor.
The new rules apply to:
– Employees and officers
– state government, local authorities, contractual employees
– State government’s public sector races
Which government employees should not publish?
According to GR, employees should not disclose anything to show:
1) the designation or pictures of the government logo
3) Official properties such as office buildings
Which GOVT applications cannot use?
State government employees cannot use any application forbidden by the state government or center.
Which GOVT applications can use?
WhatsApp, Telegram and others to coordinate official work can be used.
