
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Arvind Sawant urged India to avoid playing cricket with Pakistan due to continued tension during Lok Sabha debate on Monday. His statement comes when India and Pakistan are about to face each other in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, scheduled in UAE from 9 to 28 September.During a special debate on Pahalgam’s terrorist strikes and Sindoor operations, he questioned the Indian decision to stop the war with Pakistan without imposing conditions when Pakistan was looking for a ceasefire.

“If India was in a convenient position, then what stopped the Earth in the regeneration of the Pakistanic occupied Kashmir (POK),” Sawant said, suggested that it was time to act similar to Indian Gandhi during the 1971 war.Sawant stressed that playing cricket with Pakistan would be inappropriate due to the history of conflicts between nations. “It would be inappropriate for India to play cricket with Pakistan, who injured India many times,” he said.The Asia Cup 2025 will have a T20 format, which serves as a preparation for the World Cup 2026 T20, which will be hosted together by India and Sri Lanka.
