CBSE’s evaluation process has been embroiled in controversy ever since the board of education released the Class 12 result on May 13. Despite CBSE’s assurances about the credibility of on-screen marking (OSM), several students have pointed out discrepancies in evaluated answers and technical glitches on its post-result portal. Amid growing scrutiny of the digital scoring system, a number of changes have occurred in recent days, which are as follows:

The new CBSE chairman Prashant Lokhande is a 2001 batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer who trained for the UPSC examination at Thane Municipal Corporation’s Chintamanrao Deshmukh Institute of Administrative Training. According to a Thane civic body statement, Prashant Lokhande served in several key positions in the central government and handled senior administrative responsibilities.

He added, “Students continue to focus on competitive exams like JEE and NEET. But because of OSM, many have not achieved the required marks, causing stress to families and children. Now they are asking why it was introduced suddenly without a proper trial run.”
