
In memory of the 60-year institutional journey of Kutiyattam, the Ministry of Kutiyattam in Kerala Kalamandalam considered the University of Art and Culture is organized by the International Kutiyattam Festival (IFK-2025). This landmark celebrates the inheritance of the classic Sanskrit Theater and its development within the public academic institution since its formal integration into Kalamandalam six ten years ago.
The festival will take place in the Kalamandalam campus in Cherruthuruthy from 29th July to August 2, 2025.
Over the past sixty years, Kerala Kalamandalam has contributed significantly to the nutrition of the oldest living living Sanskrit traditions in the world, at national and international level, through the repertoire and academic excellence.
The five -day event brings together practitioners, scholars and enthusiasts from around the world.
The festival will be inaugurated by the prominent dancer Padma Subrahmanyam on Tuesday at 9:30 in the presence of B. Ananthakrishnana, Vice -President Kerala Kalamandalam, P. Rajeshkumar, registrar, and registering and Scholars. On the opening day there will also be a seminar session on Natyasastry, which sets the tone for academic depth and artistic perfection that defines the festival.
Among the main main points of the IFK-2025 are the daily performance of climbing artists Kutiyattam, who intuited artists Kutiyattam, who inturate Padmasree Kalamand Sivan Zambuthiri, Kalamandalam Ramacyar, Ammannur Kuttan Chayar, Kalamandam Girija, Kalamandalam, USha Nangiar.
The participation of experts will be academic meetings. Guru Pincula Ramachayar Memorial Day will be observed on July 31, reminiscent of a late guru on an artistic form with a floral tribute, commemorative conference and performances.
As the oldest surviving Sanskrit theater tradition in the world, Kutiyattam occupies a unique place in the global heritage. Its protection owes a lot of cultural pioneers such as Guru Painkula Ramachayar and institution, such as Kerala Kalamandalam, whose strict educational programs, academic survey and curatorial performances maintain art alive and relevant.
